Wellbeing and Professional Performance Resources
We have a programme dedicated to workplace wellbeing and professional performance across Harper & Keele Vet School, Garden Vets at Keele, and Consort E3.
A conceptual framework underpins our approach to wellbeing and professional performance across the three domains.
The following video provides an overview of this framework called ‘The Contextual Developmental Approach’ (CDA).
We divide workplace well-being and professional performance into three domains:
Psychologically skilled individuals: Supporting individuals to develop skills in psychological thinking and strategies applied to the workplace.
Curriculum integration: Augmenting the veterinary surgeon training curriculum with skills in psychological thinking and strategies.
Psychologically healthy organisations: Using psychological knowledge to foster a healthy and effective work environment.
We run multiple projects to generate new knowledge through research and evaluation. This information is utilised for various applied projects (e.g., staff training, curriculum development to enhance performance and wellbeing for those working in the veterinary industry.
The following diagram summarises the main areas of work within each domain.
A number of resources are available to facilitate performance and well-being with individuals and teams. These resources are provided below grouped according to the relevant domain.
